A group of Kent
South citizens is announcing the creation of the Association
for the Preservation of the Bouctouche Watershed.
The Association
is launching a fund raising campaign with the goal of collecting
$100 000. Part of the funds raised will be used to undertake the
necessary studies in order to evaluate the environmental consequences
of having a mega hog factory situated in Sainte-Marie. Hiring of
lawyers, biologists and other experts will be necessary to insure
proper assessment.
Furthermore,
the Association will initiate and maintain a monitoring program
that will assure the protection and the preservation of the Bouctouche
watershed.
To attain these
objectives, we need your financial support. Together, we can protect
and preserve our heritage and the future of the beautiful region
which constitute the Bouctouche watershed. Financial reports will
be made available for consultation.
At this time
the Association has received an amount of $12 000 in pledges. We
greatly appreciate all donations. Contributions can be made at any
Caisses Populaires in New Brunswick or by cheque payable to:
